Firstly let me say I’m not a “technical guy”, but found I had no problem configuring and activating daily backups for hundreds of sites that my team manages.
Secondly, I appreciated the reliability of this service. I’ve used 3-4 other backup managers that use the wp-admin to go in and extract a backup – they invariably failed on larger sites – maybe because of the connection duration or some other cause, but icwp uses ftp and it’s been successful in 100% of cases for me – that’s across a sample of about 200 sites with some as large as 1gb.
Thirdly, the support is very good and responsive for this service. Sure, you pay a couple of bucks for the backups service, but you get access to support that you’re entitled to take advantage of, and for someone without an IT manager, that’s been very valuable.
I’d recommend iControlWP as a backup manager.
