This document is provided so we can be as clear and open about our iControlWP Licensing as possible.
iControlWP is free to use by all, but not open source
iControlWP makes WordPress website management easier and when you manage up to 1 WordPress websites, iControlWP is absolutely free to use.This does not include any clearly labelled premium services or products, and refers only to our fully-featured iControlWP base system.
“Free to use” does not mean that it is either ‘open source’ or that you have free access to the iControlWP source code. Please refer to Terms of Service for clarification.
iControlWP is also a premium service with premium products
If you want to administer more than 1 site using iControlWP, you will have to pay a small monthly fee. And by small we mean tiny.
We will also offer other premium services, such as WordPress continuous protection: WorpDrive.
WordPress is GPL licensed and Open Source; iControlWP Licensing is not
iControlWP helps you administer your WordPress sites, but our server software does not use any WordPress code to do so.We send “Action Packs” to your WordPress sites to perform any actions you request. These packs, if they use WordPress code, are open and accessible by anyone. This complies fully with WordPress licensing.
iControlWP does not make any attempt to mask, encode, encrypt any code that uses WordPress GPL code.Further, with the use of small “Action Packs” iControlWP never installs extra code on your WordPress site. This makes the plugin footprint on your website absolutely minimal and also does not require us to GPL-license any code that is not based on the WordPress platform.
iControlWP is about choice and ease of access by all
If you have checked out our pricing model recently, no-one can say we over-charge for our services.
We want iControlWP to be accessible by all and priced it accordingly – and it’s even free for those people who don’t use WordPress in a professional capacity.
We welcome diversity and competition in the market – it helps us all do better for our clients and customers.
If you would like a completely free product that does everything you need, unfortunately, iControlWP is not for you. We invite you to try the other services in the market – there are many!
One size does not fit all, but we hope with your custom and support, iControlWP will be all you need and more!
