Update: WordPress Themes Manager and more

By 4th October 2012 January 22nd, 2016 iControlWP: Manage WordPress Better

iControlWP WordPress Management LogoIt’s been quiet here in iControlWP for last few weeks. That’s because we’ve been hard at work developing out our all-new WordPress backup and recovery system, WorpDrive.

It’s nearly finished, but to get the ball rolling we’ve released our latest iControlWP system that includes some new WordPress management features and improved stability across the whole system.

Here’s some of what’s new…

Finer Management of WordPress Themes

Much like our WordPress plugins feature, you now have finer control over your WordPress themes and their updates.

You can sort your updates by theme name, or by site, and can easily choose which themes are updated on which sites.

This leads the way to future features that will:

  • completely change how you manage your WordPress themes and plugins across your whole WordPress network.
  • allow you to create WordPress.org favourites for your plugins and themes
  • install/activate/deactivate a plugin across all sites and more.
  • manage premium plugins/themes from within iControlWP

iControlWP talks back, with Facebook-style notifications

We want iControlWP to talk to you, to let you know what’s happening when it happens.

So we brought in a notifications menu, much like you’ll see on your Facebook.

When an action takes place, let’s say you schedule some plugin updates on a site, you’ll be notified automatically on the top menu once it has finished.

Depending on the event, you’ll have a link that will take you to the appropriate page to review the result.

You’ll love it!

Site Auto-Sync

This feature has been in iControlWP for a while, but with our latest tweaks to the plugin and overall reliability improvements, it’s working even better than before.

While you’re away, iControlWP is working to ensure that when you return you’ll have the latest information from your websites available on the dashboard.

This paves the way to future features, such as:

  • scheduling and auto plugin/theme updating
  • email notifications

Improved Reliability and Stability

We test each release of iControlWP a lot before we set it free. Probably more than we should because we sit on new developments for too long.

With this release we’ve vastly improved the plugin and the communication between it and iControlWP App itself. It’s our best yet!

With these improvements, we’re able to feedback much better to you, the user, the current state of your website. For example, if your website is offline, or there is a problem, iControlWP App will pick this up and reflect this back to you on the dashboard.

In this way, you’ll be able to see quickly which, if any, sites have problems.

Coming Soon: WorpDrive – WordPress Backup and Recovery

WorpDrive is close. In fact, the iControlWP that is live today contains nearly everything necessary to run WorpDrive.

But we’re just being careful. We’re going to test it a little more to make sure WorpDrive is a top-class service when it’s released.

If you’d like to try iControlWP – it’s free when you have 1 site, and you can even get a free 3 site trial after you sign-up.

Use the link below to sign-up today and see what’s on offer, and if you’re looking forward to WorpDrive, you can run the new compatibility tests on your site to see that you’re ready when WorpDrive is released!
